Tulips, Butchart Gardens

Tulips, Butchart Gardens
Taken in 2007, when we were on a cruise to Alaska. It was a perfect day to photograph, and as usual, the staff at Butchart had the plantings just right.

I especially like the contrast between the yellow tulips and the blue ground-cover behind and below. Looks best when viewed on a black background.

WOWWWW!! This is gorgeous! A picture worthy of much praise, gotta love the color combos here.

We too, visited Butchart Gardens, last summer, and WHAT A SHOW!! It's a mind-boggling place and an ultimate playground for a photographer, esp macro specialists! :)

Thanks for the nice comments, and thanks to the staff of Butchart Gardens. During our many visits, we've always seen the staff moving around the gardens, removing old and dead plants, pruning here and there, and of course, preparing for the coming season. As I understand it, this is a year-round operation, and people love to visit all the time.
