I do like the "airy" open stairs in these buildings. I like to imagine tha during the lockdown they might have put chairs in front of their doors and chatted at a distance with neighbors across the hall. Thank you for the kind comment, HappySnapper, and have a nice weekend!

The yellow works quite well with the black metal work and the white, sadly many traditional thing have had to be cancelled this year, I hope you are having a HFF and that you enjoy your weekend Annalia

Thank you, George. I actually liked that the people found a way to keep their tradition by adapting their program a bit. I think if we ever do get back to "normal", it will take a while yet and in the meantime we will need to use the famous ability of our species to adapt to its fullest potential. Moaning, griping, denying and grandstanding against masks will take us nowhere. Adapting is what is going to allow us to eventually thumb our noses at this virus. End of the rant, I know you certainly don't need it :) Don't even know what got me on this tangent!

A super shot Annalia. I love the bright yellow colour as it makes it look cheerful and welcoming. The local council tried to brighten up some one bedroom flats here by painting them in blue and lemon, - but the overall effect was more 'beach hit' than happy home!

The bright yellow is a bit glaring here too, but since the overall building has a rather utilitarian design (except for the wide, open stairs which I find interesting), the contrast is actually quite pleasant. These were "a riscatto" public housing, meaning that renters could choose to pay the very low subsidised rent or pay a slightly higher monthly and overtime become full owners. Most if not all are by now done paying and could afford to spruce up the building a bit. In an identical building next door, they chose instead to put in an elevator in the middle of the open stairway. It does not look even half as nice, but I am sure it is quite convenient, since the buildings have 5 stories :)))

Indeed, helping my friend with her bar, doing a work for the uni, caring for my old doggie, going once a week taking food and others uphills to my family, having visitors, doing my house keeping and trying to enjoy the beach one hour per day (water is warm and tourists are gone), why days are only 24 hours long????
