beauty and the fence (PIP)
A second HFF for you today.
On my "hamster walks" around the garden perimeter I noticed a new presence by the fence. I have never had periwinkles in the garden before and can only imagine that they somehow crossed over under the fence (my neighbour used to have them, but after she died a firm came and "cleared out" her garden, ripping out everything). Nature, however, does not give up easily and this little plant's resilience gladdened my day. Hope it does the same for you!

Thank you, Frans. I didn't know about their offshoots. That explains how they found a way to cross over! Yes, they have now joined her beloved potted plants that I rescued after she passed away and they were left to wilt away in the summer heat. I think she would be glad to know they have all found a new home!

I really like periwinkles, this ornamental evergreen flowering plant. I have them in my garden and even in January (on protected places) they bloom. And they are ideal as a ground cover because they are low and spread quickly. HFF Annalia, stay well and have a good weekend.

Doing my best, J. It looks like next week some of the restrictions will be lifted and we can take walks again. Such a simple pleasure and one I have been sorely missing ... The garden is great (and I couldn't be more thankful for it), but a real walk will be so nice!!!

I noticed the same 'vinca' plant growing along our fence too!
It's an attractively coloured flower, but it can be an invasive pest too!
