Isn't It Romantic
Maurice Chevalier introduced "Isn't It Romantic" (Richard Rodgers - Lorenz Hart) in the 1932 motion picture "Love Me Tonight". In the movie first Maurice Chevalier sings the song, then it's sung by many other cast members ending up with Jeanette MacDonald. The lyric in the film changes to highlight the situation so they are not the same as the sheet music. Also introduced in the musical were the standards "Mimi", "Lover" and the title song.
Recorded in New York City, Harold Stern and His Orchestra had the top twenty hit with "Isn't It Romantic" when it reached the top twenty in 1932 featuring vocalist Bill Smith. Harold and His Orchestra were involved in experimental television on CBS in 1932.
