Hoffmann Kiln

Hoffmann Kiln
The Hoffmann Kiln , Langcliff North Yorkshire. The Hoffmann kiln is a series of batch process kilns. Hoffmann kilns are the most common kiln used in production of bricks and some other ceramic products. Patented by German Friedrich Hoffmann for brickmaking in 1858, it was later used for lime-burning, and was known as the Hoffmann continuous kiln.

A wonderful capture my friend and I am amazed that this sits at a place that I have walked and ridden through quite often. No, I have never heard of the Kiln before. Looks like you either planned perfect or was lucky that you had a tripod or good wall to hand (on self timer). Well done. ~ Herb

Wonderful shot. I was there a few years ago, the only person there so there was plenty of atmosphere. I like this view with the people at the far end giving a feel of the immense size.

Stunning shot A tripod is better than no tripod, came out so well. The people at the far end bring this to reality as true scale for this huge place. Top marks.
