..''British Made''.. for,. 'World photography day' 2025

..''British Made''.. for,. 'World photography day' 2025
The underside view of a 1950s hand push lawnmower,. still in working order showing the solid pressed wheels labelled ''British Made'' I chose this for the W.P.D upload as any product showing a similar branding as this - is such a rare sight today.

Jean-Paul, Claude Kempf, Kalli, Gary Schotel and 21 other people have particularly liked this photo

You really had an original idea, David. And a piece like that is almost museum-worthy...

Nice to see some British branding David. The mower seems to be well oiled and kept in lovely condition. Do you still use it?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I wish you a good week ahead.

Cheers Keith,. I hardly ever use it,. and dug it out only for the photo'.. an Uncle gave it me years ago,. and a swift spray of WD40 gave it the sheen,. I have used it in the past,. it's hard work ! / Now you too have a good new week ahead and Keep well - // from > Dj.

I try and avoid hard work nowadays David. Our lawnmower is electric and my wife loves using it.........she says she finds it therapeutic. I'm not going to argue :-))

Great that you got a photo on that day too. Yes, a unique and rare branding nowadays, unfortunately. I had thought this to be an old weighing machine at first glance. You lost the tyres :)

Enjoy. Herb

Thanks Herb,. I wanted to emphasise the 'Logo' close up and as a result the mower is not so evident.. yes a rare branding indeed these days.. I think everything else we own is 'Made in China' / Cheers'.. Herb.. keep well - go steady and Good Wishes from Dj.

Well done, David, on both the photo and keeping this artefact when many have been discarded in favour of motorised mowers (or concrete). You've shined it up well. A grand picture for World Photography Day.

Thanks O'O',.. for your kind comment,.. a quick blast on the wheel of WD40 did the sheen - the rest is still rather dusty ,.. Cheer from Dj.

I love that the 'British made' is on something so solid. Seems very fitting, something long lasting and still working. I assume it's yours and you still use it?

I have a push mower, probably not U. S. made, though I haven't checked. I do, however, still use it on my funny front yard that is bumpy and full of all sorts of weeds, not just grass.

Did you use manual mode on your camera to take this? I like that the grass is slightly out of focus, making the wheel stand out even more.

David G Johnson club has replied to raingirl club
Thanks for your comment Laura'.. I very rarely use the mower,. it was handed to me from an uncle who moved to an O.A,P bungalow where the lawns were council maintained.. yes I used 'manual' and the wide aperture to get the blur into the grass.. / Ha' yes weeds, everyone's nightmare.. they take over,..I am working to reduce them now actually,// Keep well and 'Good Wishes' to you from D'J'
