A ''Happy bench Monday'' to everyone..... from Dj.....

A ''Happy bench Monday'' to everyone..... from Dj.....
Shortened Information from an adjacent notice board....>

''Heathcote mere'',. in years past,. this was an important watering stop for packhorses,.. which would have carried salt from the west,. and coal from the east.. Managing animals was taken seriously and as early as 1745 fines were imposed on anyone defiling the water or moving the walls. To the far left was a well for domestic use,. the villagers would collect water in buckets and other containers.
