Tovel Lake is located in the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park,Trentino. It is surrounded by thick forests and the peaks of the Brenta Dolomites.
Up until the 1960s, Tovel Lake was famous for another reason: every summer its waters used to turn red, due to a special algae. In fact, Tovel Lake was also known as the ‘Red Lake’.

Sunday greetings and a good new week my friend.
Thank you for the nice information. So interesting.
Best wishes
Ammirato !
Un saluto speciale
Fabio
