HFF from Montacute House, Somerset.

East Court was the original entrance to the house and is bounded on three sides by balustraded walls of glowing Ham stone, adorned with lanterns and obelisks; and on the west, by the terrace of the house. The old walls shelter mixed flower and shrub borders, following a planting scheme devised in the 1950s by Mrs Phyllis Reiss of nearby Tintinhull Garden. Known for her clear colours and large groups of foliage plants, it provides interest throughout the year.

Günter Klaus, Dimas Sequeira, Erhard Bernstein, Trudy Tuinstra and 43 other people have particularly liked this photo

Beautifully framed, this historic fence is set in an environment where nature plays a major role.
In this bright sunshine, how pleasant and refreshing it must be to walk around!
Belated HFF, Rosalyn!
