NICK! I LOVE THIS!!!! My kind of window...the deep window sill is ideal for displaying special things, as you have done here. a view of the yard is great also, I see your Greenhouse, Bird bath and I like that high GREEN fence:))) this is a great shot Nick. What have you been grating with the grater there? even the blue cloth adds color to all the green.. one of my favorite 2 colors together are blue and green! Your cutlery set is almost like mine. :) as you can see, I took in all of your shot:)...YS...Oh the windows are like ours, can pull and slide open in the tracks. can you tell that I enjoyed this photo :)) Have a good rest of Saturday and Sunday. We change our clocks forward tonight .. hugs with good wishes, Sarah

Wow Sarah, you really have gotten into this picture :~) It was the Amaryllis in flower and an image by Amelia today that prompted me to take this shot .

No staging of props or anything, what you see is everyday life. The grater had be used to gratecheese to put over my baked potato.

The green hedge is leylandii which is a nuisance that grows far to quickly and ends up high. I trim i twice a year and keep the height under control. The good thing about it is it gives a good degree of privacy.

The greenhouse gets used every Spring for bring on babies and houses all of my bird food, flower pots and other bits and pieces.

The old adage goes blue and green should never be seen (but that probably applies to clothes, I rather like the combination too.

I'm afraid our windows are only hinged.

Thanks for your good wishes and you enjoy your weekend too ~ hugs Nick

A fine scene Nick, tying many things up. Love the size of your hedge! Must be nice to see birds bathing here. We see birds feeding from our feeders and also our tame urban fox sunning itself on our lawn. I see Christmas Poinsettia is still doing well. - Only a woman could get as excited as Sarah over a kitchen window though. (Oh dear what have I just said!!!!) -well maybe many men could too. Perhaps!... this holes getting deeper...

ps I think you could have left some dirty cups or plates on here though! To make it look more -lived in like! - Milk carton and empty plastic bottle helps - dropped through hole now!

better go... Herb

Hi Herb iti is nice to lean how to win friends of the female variety :~))) The foxes pass through our garden but don't stop to sunbathe, saw a hedgehog once too ~~~ off you go back to hole digging now ~~~ Enjoy

Thanks Nick - trying to figure out, how to get out now. At the moment the star of our gardens in a badger. Only problem is, he's digging the whole place up. The front lawn looks like a WW! battlefield. Was not sure it was a badger until I bought a 'trail' camera/video that is movement triggered and has a IR light for night? Caught him digging on video. So a wire-mesh curtain covers the whole front lawn now. Now he's digging up side lawn instead! He does look cute though. Unfortunately trail camera quality is too poor for Ipernity. ~ Herb

A badger ~ well there is a thing ~ greatest natural earth mover ever ~ Let us hope that it doesn't undermine the house!

They looks very spruce, both garden and kitchen. Mine has a look like this only after my girlfriend has blitzed it. I like a clean and tidy kitchen but she is a perfectionist!
Enjoyable shot!

Hi Sarah -good to know that you have lent me your rope ladder so I could climb out of the very big hole! Of course, all in jest! Fun stuff as you said. Funny enough, even though I noticed that big white flower on the sill, it did not hit me. The thing that did hit me however was the balance of light between inside and out and then I was weighing up the amount of fill-in-light required from his flash gun or big white reflectors. Ever the technician inside me I suppose. i'm thinking now of doing a shot from our kitchen window too (towards the bins perhaps :) Cheers again to both you and Nick.

About the tallest Amaryllis I've seen and I like the tidy state of the kitchen, I try to get my other half to put things away as after use, she has none of it, if there is a space it needs something standing on it she says!!!

A lovely homely scene indeed Nick and the Amaryllis looks like it will soon need a little more head room .. a nice specimen indeed

Best wishes ... Steve

Hi Steve ~ Perhaps we will have to either cut a hole in the ceiling or leave a window open ~ Have a good Sunday ~ All the best ~ Nick

A symphony indeed. The white Amaryllis is much more subtle than the red, more of a flute rather than a trumpet, and very sophisticated. I love that bevelled edge on your work top. Very up to the minute, Nick. ;-)

Nice shot, Nick, I cannot get excited about a kitchen, its just a work space!!... But, this one with that lovely view is different... now tell me, do you cut that hedge?

Best wishes... John.

Nick Weall club has replied to John Goodwin
Hi John, well no doubt you appreciate what can some out of the kitchen :~) I cut all of our hedges, most of which are high, spring and autumn. I use a two tier scaffold tower to enable me to get to the top, every year I think this is the last time I do this, and every new year I think oh well I'll give it a try. It is a pain

Hi Nick

Nice picture and a wonderful view!
Don't tell the man from elf n safety about how you cut the hedge... There's bound to be something you are doing wrong!!

Best wishes
Peter

Elves always can find something wrong ~ it is more than their job is worth! With hedge cutting I don't wear a safety harness whilst on top of the scaffold tower for example as I cannot find a sky hook strong enough ~ All the best ~ Nick
