New Year at Gosport

New Year at Gosport
How do you like your firework shots?

Taken from a tripod, crisp and even?

or hand held with a liberal dose of alcohol to sharpen the finger?

Bill Robinson / kinderbill, , Gudrun, Nouchetdu38 and 9 other people have particularly liked this photo

Even with a liberal dose of alcohol, you should have been able to keep still for 1.3 seconds, Nick. ;-)
But maybe this was Intentional camera movement? In which case it should be added to the group.
Better than the Edinburgh display, or what I saw of it on TV, and certainly much better than that in RXIT..

This was one of my attempts to get to the very heart of the explosion ~ The pub across the road always sends up a few rockets at the stroke of midnight and the rocket tends to explode more or less at the height of our balcony so pretty close really. After the explosion the firework looks like lots of pretty white feathers. The gold I guess is from the propellant spreading the various bits outwards . Hard to capture the moment and I was concentrating on pointing the camera in the right direction and not so bothered about keeping still, because I quite like the result of a bit of movement ~ All very hit and miss, so serendipity plays a part too x

Hiya Peter

I think it is serendipity, hit & miss, pot luck, or just jammy :~) But if you don;t point the camera in the right direction and press the button you haven't a chance of even reaching first base :~)

Thanks for your good wishes ~ and you have a great 2018 and 52 brilliant weekends ~~~ Nick
