An amazing camera you have there that can take photos back in the past ie 1900 :) I still have an old original German illustrative book of Heidi of which belonged to my mother who got it as a young girl. Like others here (following your link), I did not think that they would have built real places and structures around that story but it looks well worth a visit. Thanks for sharing my friend.

I am so happy that you like the scene, which I believe was the inspiration for the story. So, houses first, story came later.
As for the date, computers generally store dates as data type 'number', the number being the number of days since 1 Jan 1900. Hence a zero in the EXIF 'date' will give it as 1 Jan 1900!!
