Fence around the instruments!

Fence around the instruments!
Some strange custom!! HFF!!

From what I understand it is part of an old tradition called 'Wassailing' to be nice to the trees so they produce more fruit. www.hymnsandcarolsofchristmas.com/Hymns_and_Carols/Notes_On_Carols/wassailing.htm

Hi Peter,
Well that's different. When I have seen Wassailing in Somerset, they hang toast soaked in cider on the trees to encourage a good crop of apples.
A good and different shot!
Best regards, Rosa.

Hi Rosa ,

The exact meaning I don't know. I certainly remember people putting the toast there, so perhaps this is to serenade the tree...!
Best Wishes, (very late) HFF, a good week ahead, and keep safe!!
