As I said to Steve D above:- The whole pattern of 'work' was most comical. A leaking pipe under the street, they would show up around 10:00AM, dig a a bit more, and clear off around 15:00hrs. It took them around 3 weeks to do the job!

I understand your comment totally, but in fairness a lot of roadwork is only done at night for the elf n safety reason that they need to cone off two adjacent lanes in case anything or anyone gets run into. I must say this was a source of amusement with my work mates..!
