Hi Sarah

Very nice picture here. It reminds me of George Washingtons house at Mt Vernon. I can just imagine the horse and cart, the ladies in long skirts and Sunday bonnets, and a whole collection of servants running round..

Best wishes, HFF, and a good weekend.

Hello Peter, thank you for your visit here. Im with you on images of days gone by and the folks and servants who could have lived here! It is a lovely place, well kept and so interesting to see it from the highway, that runs by it on the way to Claxton , Georgia.... (my daughter-in-law teaches school in there).. Hope your weekend is being a good one! Sarah

A fine shot Sarah, very impressive building. Would this have belonged to a plantation owner in past years? A belated HFf, enjoy your weekend.

Hello Doug, I wish I could answer the history of this lovely home Doug. We just do not know of its past years, so so sorry. But the style of this home fits the era of those days! Hope your weekend is a good one also.

Hello my dear Sarah a lovely shot indeed and certainly a very interesting one ,, it would indeed be lovely to know a little history about this place as i am sure it has some :))

The owners are not so keen on removing the Autumn leaves as you it seems :))

Wishing you a belated HFF here my dear Sarah

Hello dear Steve, thank you so much for your kind comment on this lovely country home! I DO WISH I had the history on this older home that has been kept in such great condition, I will see if I can find something about it,,,,will get back with you if any results.

OH about those leaves, what they are doing Steve, is keeping the fallen leaves contained in those islands all along the drive way and probably other places as well. WE do that here, Steve, in the front yard NOW is leaves in our larger islands around our trees AND really in the landscape nearer the house, BUT they will be covered with fresh straw, (as you know) that we do annually when nearer spring. :) There are just so many that fall in the Fall season, we rake and burn aaaa lot! but even with that, we blow some into those islands also, helps keep moisture in,,,

thanks for coming by, always good to see you,,,,have a great week dear Steve.

warmest wishes, Sarah xx
