Hello dear Steve., This isn't a Rose Steve. This is a Sassanqua , "the other Camellia" .. There are several varieties of Camellias and this is one....very delicate, petite and quite pretty. You may remember this too from Pano.... thank you Steve, Best wishes, Sarah xx Have a great weekend.

Hey Frans. You are so right about brown spots, they DO appear on these blooms, I was lucky on this I suppose:) Ive enjoyed this bush of Camellias (the Sasanqua) Thank you Frans.

Hello Peter, thanks for dropping by, Yes I thought I needed some spring color on my gallery :) after my snow shots:) we have had a really cold winter with the white stuff, more than usual. today is a bit warmer with some rain forecast for today and tomorrow. How pretty this camellia is, Sarah. Not a sign of frostbite. They won't be out here for a couple of months, and we often get frosts which cause the petals and buds to go brown and fall off. We had some snow yesterday, but I have some spring colour in the garden in the way of snowdrops, early crocuses, winter aconites and hardy cyclamen. Don't hurry things along too quickly, the years are getting shorter as it is. ;-)
