I saw many of these sunrises when I lived in this 11 floor flat for a year.

Not advisable to dawdle too close to the crumbly edge here! I walk by here about once every two years (at one time 3-4 times a week when I lived here!), and am constantly surprised by how much land has disappeared each time! Not too long ago, I could have walked across to the promontory from here in a straight line!). There is an old tin mine entrance on the far island (storm erosion has washed away what would have been an obvious approach to the entrance, I suspect).

A favourite stretch of North Cornish coast.

If you were not 100% catholic, in the days of the reconquista and after, it made sense to declare your undying adherence to the True Faith of the Winning Side by such means as these biblical extracts over your door!

Enjoying itself hugely. It had an amazing appetite and devoured this daffodil almost before I got my phone out of my pocket! Best on 'z'! By sheer coincidence Marie-claire Gallet has also posted a photo of this insect. You can see it on explore. She knows the name so thank you Marie-claire!!!

These are Samphire and Asparagus Islands. I have never been sure which is which. I asked a local fisherman who had lived in Portreath all his life and he had no idea what I was talking about. He didn't know they had names! The unsentimentality of practical local people! Mid distance, Crane Islands and North Cliffs, Far distance, Godrevy lighthouse and Reskajeage. I used to enjoy walking between Portreath (a mile behind me) and Godrevy. 5 hours including a walk into Hayle to get the bus back, or 7 hours if I did half the walk at low tide, rock-hopping along the shoreline!

Typical of the Madrid metro designs in its great expansive phase from about 1995 to the onset of the recession and, deliberately over-edited by me, this represents a positive, thrusting, energetic attitude that faltered somewhat when the recession struck. However the legacy has left a metro network that, in large parts. exudes a dynamic upbeat feel that is very seductive. It still needs to be paid for, however!

Even the out of bounds and long decommissioned nuclear research station of Nancekuke seen on the horizon at far right can't much detract from the scene.

Taken in Spring 2014, please ignore the exif date - always wrong in this camera and no one has been able to fix it! This is an area due for complete redevelopment. It lies between the Four Towers and Chamartin Station and has been an eyesore since the beginning of the recession (except for a few weeks in Spring!). I did have to remove a few beer cans and empty cigarette packets first!
