St Agnes' Head, Cornwall

Granite cliffs at St Agnes' Head, St Agnes' Heritage Coast. Good fun scrambling down to this point and good exercise getting back up! I used to to do it 10 times a day when I was trying to lose the weight I put on after I quit smoking! It worked! Try on Z please.

Sierra de La Cabrera in autumn, granite country.

HFF to all my ipernity and IMA friends. There is a fence in there somewhere; the horse has got it (almost) covered!

Saint Day. Dull day.

Not all Cornish photos can be full of exciting clifftops, dramatic skies or sunny days.

Crane Islands.

North Cliffs, Cornwall. This shot is taken from the ramparts of Crane Castle, or what is left of this Iron Age hill fort. The flowering bank in the foreground leads up to the top of the landward defensive rampart; nearly all of the fort is now under the sea and would have occupied the now disappeared land between this position and the island ahead.

HFF!!

Even the out of bounds and long decommissioned nuclear research station of Nancekuke seen on the horizon at far right can't much detract from the scene.

HFF once again!!!

My Mum's garden again. It's a very good source of fences when I don't come across all that many fences in my day to day life here in Madrid! I do hope you don't mind!

Gurnard's Head and Carn Galva from Zennor Head

20 Jul 2012 37 47 859
A wonderful stretch of the the South West Peninsula Coast Path, Zennor, West Penwith, Cornwall. Gurnard's Head; so named because of its resemblance to the fish. The raised coastal platform, or strip, will immediately be apparent to all you amateur geographers out there!

HFF, everybody!

Buitres Leonidas. Griffon Vultures. I was fortunate to get this close. I was upwind and in the shade; it helped! El Cancho de La Bola, Sierra de La Cabrera. Photo taken in May 2013, regardless of the exif date!

Wild tulip, Sierra de La Cabrera, Madrid

They only open this fully on the hottest of days and when the sun is at its highest; an hour or two at most. And because Spain adheres to Central European time, this means between 3 and 5 pm! They really are quite small; miniature wild tulips!
