Above the village / town.

It's a photo taken 12 years ago, and you say a lot of things have changed since then. It's a great view from this mountain too.

Not really; I said a lot had changed since 1981 (in the notes - you might easily have missed it) when I first climbed here (it's a long story!). Actually I have posted one photo from here from 1981 featurering my old French climbing friend - and old school exchange friend before that. I'll try and find it for you, Jenny!)
It has a certain hazy effect which may have been heat haze or photographic incompetance, either way I like it!

I looks a tough climb.

Not really, but tough if you're not fit I suppose. But then go at at your own pace and it's doable in about an hour.

La N-1 la he recorrido muchas veces, para ir solo hasta Madrid o Andalucía, desde Bilbao, pasando por Somosierra, cuando no estaban los coches climatizados, viajaba de noche.

Makes sense. I first went this way in a 1970 Renault 4L in 1981 with very little brakes. Fun, but dangerous and the road was the Old Burgos Road and it took about 5 hours to get to Burgos! (No motorway then!)

I have to return to Cornwall soon, Peggy but I intend to get up there again before I do! And I want to say hello to my Griffon vulture family. I've missed them these past 5 years or so!

I hope you make it up there, Andy!! Looking at the spread of the town I think it must be a nice place to live if so many more people wanted to shift there.

Not so nice, Eunice, the 'new' build was mainly 80s and without strict controls so it's a bit of a mess, frankly. The old centre is still ok though.

Me too of course but it's still a case of two steps forward and you think, 'great! I can do this' and then one step back and real doubts set in; but I will give it a go sooner rather than later and in the summer heat too! All safeguards in place of course! Thank you, Diana!

About 10-13 years ago I was coming here twice a week, and I got really fit. I also got to know every rock and the three photographers on Panoramio who also walked these mountains gave me the accolade of knowing far more about the place than they ever did even though there had been walking here far longer than me. Sadly, I lost touch with all but one and he no longer climbs (but then, I have to suppose, neither do I!)
Glad you like it, Keith. It was deliberately left impressionistic as I felt that to strive for perfectionism here with a camerafone wasn't realistic and anyway I prefer the moody approach in places such as this. Not all will agree and that's fine!
