Typical path

Typical path
Sierra de La Cabrera. This path will take you to the pass straight ahead (Colado Alfrecho) and then you can go left to the summit of Cancho Gordo, or turn right to Cancho de La Bola, home of vultures. Either way you're talking 25 minutes if fit, much longer if not, or if you stop to take photos (that's my excuse!)

I make no excuses as to the length of this glorious piece of music and urge you to listen through to the end: such beauty, power and skill and I think this has to be in my top 3 Beethoven Piano Sonatas and performed here by a Beethoven master. (If you get a Lionel Messi sponsored advert half way through the final movement as I did, he is easy to eliminate!)

Daniel Barenboim is an amazing pianist - you could hardly see his fingers moving, he was so quick. Wonderful piece of music. I can really understand your love for this area - it is so pretty and as for how long it would take to traverse it - try hours rather than minutes.

A fine scene Andy, even with the dated noise in the sky. Looks like a grand place for a steep hike, which you no doubt enjoyed at the time. - The music suits this scene well but does distract me slightly (especially in the Allegro Forte bits) from the otherwise tranquil silence of this vista. Another double classic my friend. ~ Herb

Dated noise in the sky - I know what you mean, but I forget what primitive editing tool I was using in 2011! - it wasn't Photoshop as I have never used them. Maybe an early version of Picasa?

Taking photos is a wonderful excuse when a break is needed, but why is every where getting steeper ??? I'm sure when I walk to the village the road never used to be as steep I think where I live must be sinking !!!!

I think you are right, Peter. Right in the fact that everywhere we live is sinking!
