That's funny, in the vacation I've read a book that takes place on the Île-de-Sein and Île d'Ouessant! And now I can see how it looks there. A bit secluded, but beautiful!

I have visited both islands. It's a wonderful area and I just love these raw atmospheres. If you don't like wind, cold sea, rain and extreme weather conditions you can't appreciate Bretagne.
The Lighthouse at Île-de-Sein is open and you can walk up until the main top terrace. It's possible to get a straight look into the bulb chamber but you can't get it. In the other album there are some pictures taken over there.
What I really do want to do next time is a visit to the famous Phare of Ar-Men, an high tower fitted on a rock in the middle of the waters. There are some sailing organised from the coast to Ar-Men, (but without inside visit). It's surnamed "l'enfer des enfers" due the extreme life conditions when it was still warded. You can find many spectacular and dramatic pictures of this Lighthouse submerged by the oceans giant waves.
Which is the title of the book your have mentioned?

It is a crime thriller from the book series of Jean-Luc Bannalec and his commissar Dupin. The name is "Bretonische Flut". He describes very nicely the rough, but very beautiful atmosphere on the island. And he also describes very detailed the conditions and reality on the island, you can even control it on GE.
It's been a long time since I was in Brittany, but I liked it very much. I'd like to go there again sometime...

Did you visit Marie-France, an ipernity stalwart, who lives here in the summer months?
Ouessaint reminds me of Cornwall in just about every aspect!
