C’est du lourd !

Vinh Long (Vietnam) – Tranquillement installé en face à siroter un café glacé, j’observe les pauvres gars qui apportent et déchargent de lourds sacs contenant ce qui me semble être du riz. Ils arrivent en mobylette transportant parfois plus d’une dizaine de sacs. Ensuite, sans que les femmes qui visiblement dirigent le magasin ne leur accordent la moindre attention, ils les entassent au fond du hangar et repartent dégoulinant de sueur. Durant les 20 minutes pendant lesquelles j’ai assisté à ces scènes, les manutentionnaires-livreurs ont fait au moins quatre voyages, chacun.


It's heavy!

Vinh Long (Vietnam) – Relaxedly seated across the street, sipping an iced coffee, I watch the poor guys bringing in and unloading heavy bags containing what I think is rice. They arrive on mopeds, sometimes carrying more than ten bags. Then, without the women who obviously run the store paying them the slightest attention, they pile them into the back of the shed and leave dripping with sweat. During the 20 minutes I witnessed these scenes, the delivery handlers made at least four trips each.
