Le marionnettiste
New-Delhi (Inde) - Cet homme est un artiste de rue. Un marionnettiste. Il fait partie d'une longue lignée de saltimbanques allant du montreur d'ours (aujourd'hui interdit), au cracheur de feu, en passant par des équilibristes, des lanceurs de couteaux ou des avaleurs de sabres. Je l'ai rencontré quand je faisais un reportage sur une "colonie" d'artistes qui vivaient dans un quartier de New-Delhi, menacé par des promoteurs. Les artistes étaient attachés à leur quartiers et organisaient de nombreuses manifestations pour alerter l'opinion publique et refuser d'être relogés dans immeubles. Quand j'ai rencontré ce marionnettiste, l'un des leaders du mouvement de protestation, plusieurs artistes avaient déjà accepté l'argent des promoteurs pour vendre leur maison. Je n'ai plus de nouvelles, mais je pense que le vieux quartier a désormais disparu, faisant place à des tours pour la classe aisée.
