Vollmer's Tiger Lily
Also known as the Leopard Lily, this beautiful wildflower was photographed in the Siskiyou Mountains of southern Oregon. Its botanical name is Lilium pardalinum subsp. vollmeri. We saw and photographed it on a trip to Oregon and California last summer.

Desert Rock Nettle
Though there were not a lot of wildflowers blooming anywhere in Death Valley, we did see many different species. This was one of our favorites, a low bushy plant covered with greenish-white flowers (see inset). Its botanical name is Eucnide urens.
Desert Globemallow
This was one of the most beautiful wildflowers we saw in Death Valley National Park. We saw it first along the Scotty's Castle Road but would see it several more times in our trip through the park.

Yellow Cups
These lovely wildflowers were photographed in Warm Springs Canyon in the southwest part of Death Valley.
Woolly Desert Dandelion
This is another of the desert wildflowers we saw along the road as we drove up Warm Springs Canyon in Death Valley.
Nevada Gilia
Photographed along the road in Warm Springs Canyon in Death Valley, I believe this is Nevada Gilia, one of the more beautiful wildflowers we saw in DVNP.
Desert Globemallow
Photographed at Warm Springs Camp in Death Valley National Park, this is the Desert Globemallow. Driving through Warm Springs Canyon we saw more wildflowers than anywhere else in the park (see insets).
