Gosh, Ron, what a beautiful series of pictures! The composition on this main image with its natural framing is fabulous. Love the color of the water contrasting with the edge of the water, the wonderful formations and textures, soft reflections on the water, dramatic change in light and shadow. Yummy. Your first inset, a total winner, is reminiscent of Yin-Yang and I love the use of +/- space--such an enormous difference with each side..totally fabulous! And the last inset could have been your main image too..it's a gorgeous fall feast for the eyes with the exact composition that makes me jump up and down. So pretty, I'm envious of this hike, dry as it was. The beauty is over the top! :)

Wow, what a man with a mission! Welcome home you busy boy! I do understand though, about really needing to get certain things done before dropping to the ground in a pile after a trip. For me, I insist on putting all the clothes away, getting things started in laundry, unpacking the bags and putting things back where they belong and stowing those bags and making sure everything is as back-in-place as possible. Steve is all about "I'll do it later (never)" and I'm all about, "do it now so I don't have to think about it anymore." Once I see the end of my responsibilities approaching, I begin to shut down...and by the time the last thing is put away I must be positioned over the bed so that I can drop face forward into it for a well-deserved nap! HAH!

It's a lot bigger job now that we have our RV...much more to unpack, omg! Empty the refrigerator and transport all of it back to the house fridge--which is empty and waiting to be refilled--bring over the laptops, computers, snacks and anything that goes back and forth (some things are doubled so we don't have to remember to take them!)...it's a big job but I've learned to streamline. We have a marvelous, collapsible wagon from Costco that I can't say enough about. If you don't have one, consider it, they are great for so many things, including gardening, toting tools around, bla blah www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-folding-wagons ...and the price is totally reasonable too--once you have one, you'll never NOT have one! Back and forth I go, loading and unloading that fabulous wagon--makes everything so much easier! :)

Anyway, glad you had the energy to deal with mowing before it rained. It's really something you can't put off. Steve's learned his lesson about that, regarding the RV. Once it ended up pouring during our stay at Fort Stevens and though Steve had stowed most in our "easy-up" gazebo, things still got wet and messy and repacking to leave meant wet things in the underbelly of the coach and such. The next time rain was forecast, Steve went out at 10:30 at night and spent the 30 minutes to break down and put away all the things sitting out, sweep off the awning and retract it, etc. It was all nice and dry and easy to put away. When it began pouring, we were both so happy that he'd spent the time to do things before it became a mess. Live and learn. :)

How nice to hear that you were able to spend time with your parents! That must have been wonderful to learn that you could see them in person after all! Sorry to hear about your mom...alzheimers is such a sad reality. Hopefully she was happy enough, and thankfully you could see her and had a good visit with your dad.

ipernity certainly fills in the gaps for how much of the world is suffering with lockdowns and all of the negatives that come from this. Not surprised your parent's facility is locked down again. It's just so wearisome, isn't it? Taking chances is one thing but your parents are so frail. It's a tough call, isn't it?

Heh, ty for the kind remarks about the Obsidian Flow panorama I shared--and enjoying "Mr. Genius" on the edge of it. What a fun day. :) I'll have fun sharing pictures from our visit, so many crazy views and detail shots! :) And yes, I can see why Nancy is such a fan of the place! I feel for her though...eyes brimming with tears as she lets the beautiful rocks drop one by one from her trembling hands...I know the feeling! :D

About your phone and getting pictures...I know what you mean about forgetting about the images, but what you can do is just make it a point to copy your pictures over to your camera once a week or whenever you've taken pictures with it...the images deserve your attention because they so often turn out really well! :) Glad to hear you've been getting some panos with it. I am still unhappy for telling you that I'd send our phone to you and then it turned out that we couldn't because the phone deal I got wasn't available anymore...and then the darn thing died. Maybe it was best since it kicked the bucket-- I would have hated for you to have to deal with that--but I hold my word as extremely important and do not give promises lightly. I know that you've said it's not a big deal to you but I can't help but feel unhappy for not being able to follow through on my offer. Integrity and all that. :( :P

Well, your proposed menu sounds marvelous! I hope that Jess can eat all of your yummy fare. And the curry for the weekend sounds grand too! We had a sous-vided tri tip last night with a mouth-watering portabello mushroom cream sauce on top...to die for!!! The night before we had a bbq'd ribeye steak that was charred exactly to perfection and the whole thing just melted in our mouths...NOM!! :D
