Evening in Norris Geyser Basin

When in Yellowstone National Park we often go out in the evening when the crowds have disappeared and walk through one of the geyser basins to watch the sunset. This photo was taken in the evening as we walked through the Back Basin at Norris and then on to Porcelain Basin for the sunset.

HFF.
Amazing lights in all these wonderful scenes. Exceptional series, Ron!
Hope you have an enjoyable weekend.
Have a nice weekend.
Thanks for your super update, it's always nice to hear what's going on with you.
Regarding Yellowstone and other national parks, it's so true that you must be clever about your visit to avoid/minimize the crowds. I know we're both totally allergic to masses of people! From your pictures it's obvious you have it all figured out! :D
Wow! Nancy is such a sweetheart to make treats for the workforce, how unexpected for them I'm sure! :)
Sounds like the weather finally began to cooperate with you, great news that you could get out and have some fun wandering around and getting some super pictures! I bet those bridge shots will be awesome!
Glad you enjoyed the pictures...there is a reason I put the hummingbird first...heh...CROWD FAVORITE! And boy did I get lucky! So funny how that one goes...bird zooms in, you click like a rabid animal and hope for the best. I got so lucky with my pictures...definitely the best in-flight shots I've ever gotten, so I'm really delighted! :) Happy that you liked my other pictures too, way to make me feel fabulous, Ron! :D Sometimes I wonder if posting pictures of leaves and foliage is something people will want to see...just because *I* like the images doesn't mean anyone else would want to see them, so thanks for the kudos on my 'nanner leaf shot! :D
Re: Camp White and our property...I was aware of the history but I had NO IDEA that our property and entire area around was used for artillery practice and army exercises! It's crazy! And YES, there have been unexploded ammo found on properties so definitely need to be careful. My metal detector has a way to eliminate various metals so I decided to no longer see the shards. There are too many and if there is a possibility of encountering live ammo, er...no thanks!
Autumn colors are definitely starting to show, as are the lowering temperatures. Funny how that sort of thing seems to have a flip-switch sort of deal..."yesterday it was hot, today it's freezing!" Anyway, it's nice that our trip kept us away during the hottest time of the year when we really don't like it much around here. And now it's turning into one of my favorite times, so yay!
All of the homemade brews sounded delightful and reminds me of the time I made Kahlua when I was about 21. It turned out very MEH! but what fun to try! I can certainly see the attraction to fooling around with your own ideas, maybe you'll have the chance to do that! I'm sure you guys would come up with some wonderful brews/liqueurs of your own!
Steve's visit to the RV show was totally worth it. He learned so much and we've narrowed down the field to just a couple. Just a matter of time now and figuring out details!
I did think of you when Steve was telling me about the advance in layouts for camper vans. He was amazed at how nice they can be, and some include bathrooms with a shower and the whole nine yards! Wish that could be in the cards for you guys. I know what you have works great but I selfishly want you to have more! :)
Ok, time to get myself off to other things! Have a great day and please say hello to Nancy for me! :) Hugs from your little sister! :D
have a lovely WE !
Excellents shots, Ron! Wish you and your loved one a fantastic weekend!
Great ambiance, Ron!
Thank you Ron.
Juste ce qu'il faut.
Enjoy a great weekend.
