Downy Woodpecker
This is our smallest Woodpecker. They come regularly to our suet feeders and this one has bit off a bit more than he can chew. I say, "he," because this is clearly the male of the species. The female lacks the red cap.

Une merveilleuse série.

I enjoyed your comments on my last picture--Vancouver is a wonderful place to walk too, I agree. Steve and I were there years ago to visit one of his cousins and we spent some time enjoying the sights. Would love to go back with our cameras. I don't remember the artwork around but I am sure there's plenty to see...in fact when I was looking up the Whale Wall mural, I found out that Wyland painted a mural for Vancouver too! It's gone now: www.straight.com/blogra/813626/its-destroy-vancouver-time-whale-mural-demolished
Well, Steve has our boat all set up and we've got an electric motor and a bunch of other stuff ordered, should all arrive during the week. Still, he's so excited to go fishing that we'll try to get out at some point today if it stops raining so we can check out a nearby pond which is supposed to be great fishing! BTW, have any of the kids caught fishies in your boat? You didn't say!
Grats on finishing the garage, that's just great! Looks like you have all of your ducks in a row for your trip tomorrow. I hope you have a nice trip there and back again--here's to stellar weather the whole way! :)
