Ready to Bloom
When we found these plants at Aman Park in western Michigan we were not sure of their identity but later saw them in bloom elsewhere and realized they were a Phlox, we think Phlox divaricata, the Wild Blue Phlox.

A white one seems a Polyporus squamosus, is it ?
Great pictures Ron.

Thanks so much for all of your super comments and being so understanding about me not being able to chat as much as when I'm home. I mean...heh...I'm MODELING YOU so yeah, I guess you would understand...heh... The fact of the matter is that making the effort to change my style from "MUST DO THE ENTIRE HIKE NO MATTER IF IT KILLS US" to "We'll go as far as we feel like going and we'll have fun the whole way." It's awesome. We're so much happier and relaxed. We get a hike in and we get pictures too. We may miss a special viewing spot down the trail but by saying, "WHATEVER, there will be other sights and who knows, maybe we'll be back!" it's really great. I've always been so spastic about this sort of thing. I didn't realize how much happier I'd be if only I'd chill out! :) So it's nice...and Steve even mentions you and being thankful that you and Nancy have helped us so much. :)
It's been a crazy day...gosh, coming back from 3 days of RVing is one thing but after 14 days, there really is a lot to do! I don't mind though, it feels good to do and settles me back here. Steve's actually been outside for hours today, using the DR mower and also our beast of a powerful rolling string mower. (Insert interrupted EEEEK!! I just found a tick crawling on my arm, EWWW!!! and...it dropped onto me somewhere and I can't find it...um....pardon meeeeeeee)
Oh dear...nothing quite so disconcerting as dropping a tick as you are killing it and then not finding it. I flung all my clothes everywhere, checked every article, brushed out my hair, looked all over me, crawled around on the floor looking...that nasty little creature refuses to show itself. Brrrr....*sigh*...maybe I managed to kill it and it's dead...I hope...ugh...ticks...
Anyway, the property is looking so much better with Steve's mowing. Much more to do but it's a good start! :)
Well, it's dinner here so I'm off for now! Have a lovely rest of your day!
