Masdevallia lamprotyria

This charming orchid species is from Ecuador and Peru and is quite strongly scented especially during the day. It seems to me to have the scent of lilacs. My plant in spite of the number of flowers does not really represent how floriferous this species can be. A good size plant can be nearly covered with flowers. I should add, too, that it is not grown in the decorative pot shown here, but in a net pot in live sphagnum moss.
