iPhone picture by my fire fighting husband.
My husband is fire fighting on Kangaroo Island. He found this burned koala today and organised its rescue. It is believed that 30,000 koalas have died on Kangaroo Island....among untold numbers of other native animals. The rain which is in some areas of Australia has not reached many where fires are burning.

J'en ai le coeur brisé de voir ce paysage sinistré et ce pauvre animal brûlé! Je croise les doigts pour qu'on le sauve et que la pluie vienne, abondante, pour arrêter cette affreuse et effrayante hécatombe! J'imagine la détresse dans laquelle tous les êtres vivants doivent être. Mes baisers les plus amicaux pour toi et les tiens chère Diana!
