Dargun - Schloss mit Torhaus
Die Ursprünge des früheren Schlosses im Renaissancestil liegen im 12. Jh., später gab es an dieser Stelle ein Zisterzienserkloster (erhalten ist ein Nebengebäude links im Bild). Das Schloss wurde im 30- jährigen Krieg zerstört und danach wieder aufgebaut.1945 wurde es durch einen Brand zur Ruine.

Das muss eine sehr imposante Anlage gewesen sein, Percy! Schade, dass man das Schoss nicht wieder aufgebaut hat. Manchmal lohnt es sich ja auch nicht mehr. Ich habe gelesen, dass dort Open Air Konzerte stattfinden, so wird auch die Ruine noch sinnvoll genutzt.

Beautifully composed and framed Percy and I enjoyed reading the notes. It is quite sad that it was not rebuilt after the fire but must have been wonderful in its heyday. Viewing this full screen is a a must, - it brings all the detail out.
