Luis the antelope, in the distance

Luis the antelope, in the distance
The pronghorn antelope waits by the road every evening. If someone from my son's house drives down the road, he stands there until the car is within handshaking distance, then turns to saunter off to the left. There is also a hawk named Larry. He is on the same electric pole every night, swoops down and flies along with the car.

This is where my son and his family live. I love it out there at night. There are coyotes, foxes, rabbits and hares, small rodents, antelopes, many species of raptor and even wolves.

Andrea Riberti, Marie-claire Gallet, ColRam, raingirl and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

Hi Luis, It would be so nice to meet you !
And larry , too, I mean.
But I wouldn't ever be as courageous as your friend Diane to be there out at night, either driving a car.:-)

My son was driving and I was the passenger. I can barely see at night, now. ;-o
Thank you for your kind visit!

Did you ever go to the Blue Sky gallery in Portland? This photo reminds me of some of the work shown there in the 70's. Love the dirty window spots and low res (due to low light i assume) that makes one feel very present in the space.

Enjoyed in 'naturey crap - crappy nature' -thanks for always thinking of my group.

No, in fact I have not been "in" Portland in years. Only driven through it. Sounds very interesting. I can really see how my photo looks retro, complete with bugs on the windshield! Thank you very much for your appreciation!

Yes, even the wildlife is desperate for entertainment out there.
