Amply satisfactory for me as long as the wifi works adequately with a small private bathroom and a miniscule wood stove.

Can I use the expression " Amply satisfactory " professor Diane please ?

"Amply satisfactory" is a little bit contradictory. According to Dictionary.com, ample means either "more than adequate" or "large/big," but I have never heard it used to mean anything but more than enough, large, or even fat. Satisfactory means "just enough," or "adequate for the purpose." So, "amply satisfactory" might be redundant. I don't think we would use the term amply satisfactory, because at least in the US it might be taken as something like "too satisfactory." Sometimes, a word of phrase is not really incorrect, it is simply not used. I'm sure it's the same for French. (I hope this makes sense!)

Oh yes, you've got to have a bathroom! Personally, I could even do without wifi and the wood stove.

Difficult to tell how big this one is, but it looks well maintained. Nice shot Diane.

I 'm getting to think that maybe Hiouchi is the name of this place. If so it is obviously of Amerind origin (you'll tell me that this term is now non-pc I suppose. If so, forgive me please; I haven't studied such things since the 70s!)

It's still a legitimate term in linguistics, as far as I know. Hiouchi is the Tolowa (one local tribe) word for deep water. Another source says it means blue water. There were very many tribes in the N. California coastal region, which were/are closely related both culturally and linguistically. tinyurl.com/yabkaddq

I’m tailing Andy, I’m sure he’ll find the answer so I don’t have to.
