It's Halloween time in North America, again.

Costumes are banned in many Canadian schools - bummer!
Masks are banned in some US schools - bummer!
Nothing is banned in Mexico for Day of the Dead - YAY! ;-b

I don't know about "many" Canadian schools banning costumes, Diane. Many Christians throughout North America won't let their kids wear costumes, though.

Anyway, Day of the Dead is way cooler and is also more serious and more fun at the same time.

OK, some schools. globalnews.ca/news/3823949/halloween-costume-ban-canada It's apparently a growing trend, as it is here. I guess they don't want kids to be scared (!), or racist parents to let their kids wear KKK hoods. I'm all for avoiding the second, but a blanket ban is silly. Yes, evangelical Christians (in their hundreds of sects) don't wear costumes and for all I know can't even say the word Halloween without being struck by lightning.

I agree, Day of the Dead is the way to go!
