It was! I don't like to cook, so it's a rare day when I make something requiring multiple ingredients and time. One thing I enjoy making is soup of any kind, however.

I like your step by step illustrations. When's the cookery book coming out?

Hahaha - that would be the world's shortest cookbook! thanks, Andy.

It's the one kind of book a never open. Aw, I did when I was young, but I don't care, anymore.

Yummy, looks good! Are these buckwheat noodles? I don't mind cooking as long as it doesn't require too much time, many pots and cooking stages;-)

I prefer everything in one pot, all done at the same time. I live alone, so I can do as I please - ha! Yes, buckwheat soba. I had not used them for a long time and forgot how salty Japanese noodles are. So, with the miso, the soup is too salty. I should throw in some rice.

I know about too salty, it often happens to me when using black bean paste/sauce;-) And yes, one pot cooking is the thing! Do you know Chilean Cazuela de Ave? Chicken pieces, vegetables (squash, corn, peppers, carrots, green beans- whatever you like) and rice or quinoa all in one pot, makes a hearty soup which gets better reheated.

Oh yes, black bean paste, definitely! Haven't used that in years. I used to be much more creative in the kitchen. Your recipe looks good!

Yep. Sandalwood soup, my favorite! I'll try Nag Champa next time - lol! Merci, Sylvain.

For someone who professes no great interest in cooking, Diane, you have managed (by dint of one or two great photos) somehow to generate a thread on food and recipes that could, unless ruthlessly terminated by you, continue for decades! I enjoy threads such as this, so I hope you are not in Terminator mode!
