➽ Der Bau ist ungewöhnlich: Der Holzraum ist fast würfelförmig. Kein Fenster lenkt den Blick ab nach außen. Und dennoch ist der Raum hell. Der neun Meter hohe Raum konzentriert sich auf die Mitte und öffnet sich ausschließlich nach oben, zum Himmel. Vier Rundbögen spenden reichlich sanftes Licht. ➽ Der Name für die Kirche geht auf die frühchristliche Missionarin Junia zurück und wurde von der Mehrheit der Gemeindemitglieder gewählt. Wahrscheinlich war Junia eine freigelassene jüdische Sklavin. Erwähnt ist sie im Römerbrief. Paulus erwähnt dort Andronicus und Junia als "angesehene Apostel". ➽ The Dorint Hotel Tower is the most famous skyscraper in Augsburg. The building is the tallest building in the Augsburg area and one of the ten tallest buildings in Bavaria. The 115 m (with antenna 158 m) high tower located in the district Antonsviertel, in its direct vicinity are the Congress Hall and the Wittelsbacher Park . the reinforced concrete building was planed by the Augsburg architects "Brockel and Smith". In 1972 it was opened as Europe's largest hotel building. By the locals it's affectionately called Corncob tower. The Tower has architectural similarity with the twin towers of Marina City in Chicago. Das Gebäude ist das höchste Bauwerk im Raum Augsburg und eines der zehn höchsten Bauwerke in Bayern. Der 115 m (mit Antenne 158 m) hohe Turm befindet sich im Stadtteil Antonsviertel, in seiner direkten Nachbarschaft befinden sich die Kongresshalle und der Wittelsbacher Park . Geplant hat den Stahlbetonbau das Augsburger Architekturbüro „Brockel und Müller“. Bei Eröffnung 1972 galt er als größter europäischer Hotelbau. ➽ Zum 16. mal verbrachte ich nun den Silvesterabend bei der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Pfersee, bei der mein Mann und zwischenzeitlich auch mein Sohn, Mitglieder sind! Zum Glück ist der Abend relativ ruhig verlaufen, für unsere Wehr gab es nur vier relativ kleine Einsätze - hier der erste in 2015, 20 Minuten nach MItternacht! ______________________ ➽ For 16th times now I spent New Year's Eve at the volunteer fire department Pfersee in which my husband and in the meantime also my son are members! Fortunately, the evening was gone relatively quiet for our department, there were only four relatively small stakes - here the first in 2015, 20 minutes after midnight!

➽ Die Pferseer Unterführung, wegen der engen Wege "Angströhre" (Vorher-Nachher PiP) genannt, ist ein Nadelöhr zwischen der Innenstadt und dem Stadtteil Pfersee. Sie wurde 2003 mit Bildern und Graffiti heller und fröhlicher gestaltet! Außerdem wurde Musik, z.B. Mozart, auf dem Fußweg eingespielt. An der Aktion beteiligten sich ca. 100 Bürger, darunter Schulklassen, Hobbykünstler und Graffitiprofis aus der Region! Im Sommer 2012, wurden die Trennwände abgebrochen, um die Wege für Fußgänger und Radfahrer zu verbreitern. Gleichzeitig wurden die Farbflächen aufgefrischt und zur anderen Seite hin weitergeführt. Dadurch entstanden 28 neue Felder, die ebenfalls gestaltet wurden. Die Künstler von 2003 hatten die Chance, ihre Werke zu restaurieren. Bilder, die nicht erhaltenswert waren, konnten übermalt werden. Leider hört man durch den Verkehrslärm nicht mehr viel von der eingespielten Musik, aber die gefährliche Situation für Fußgänger und Radfahrer wurde durch diese Maßnahme etwas entspannt! _____________________ ➽ The Pferseer underpass, because of its narrow pathes called "fear tube" (Before and after PiP) is a bottleneck between the city and the suburb Pfersee. In 2003 it was designed with paintings and graffiti brighter and more cheerful! Also you can listen to music on the footpath, e.g. Mozart. The Promotion involved about 100 people, including school classes, hobby artists and graffiti professionals from the region! In summer 2012, the partition walls were demolished in order to widen the roads for pedestrians and cyclists. Simultaneously, the color space was refreshed and continues to the other side. This resulted in 28 new fields, which were also designed. The artists of 2003 had the chance to restore their works. Images that were not worth preserving could be painted over. Because of the traffic noise you hear now the music not as good but the dangerous situation for pedestrians and cyclists is on the basis of this measure somewhat relaxed!

➽ Wertach Vital ist ein Jahrhundertprojekt, um vor allem die Großstadt Augsburg vor den Folgen des Hochwassers zu schützen. Mit dem Projekt wurde schon im Jahr 1997 von der Stadt Augsburg, dem Freistaat Bayern und der Unteren Naturschutzbehörde begonnen. Das Pfingsthochwasser von 1999 zeigte, dass es schnell in die Tat umgesetzt werden musste, um in Zukunft gegen ähnliche verheerende Überschwemmungen gerüstet zu sein. Durch Wertach Vital ist die Wertach dabei, wieder ein richtiger Fluss zu werden, der seichte und tiefe Stellen hat, ein Fluss mit Totholz und mit Kiesbänken, die sich zum Teil verändern oder neu bilden. Raue Steinrampen führen zu schäumendem Wasser, wodurch sich der Fluss mit Sauerstoff anreichert und für viele Lebewesen wieder mehr Lebensraum bietet. Auch für Menschen ist der Fluss jetzt an vielen Stellen wieder gut zugänglich geworden, selbst für Kinder völlig gefahrlos. Wo das Projekt bereits umgesetzt ist, sind die Deiche einen Meter höher, als der errechnete Wasserspiegel eines "Jahrhunderthochwassers". Gefährliche Engstellen an der Wertach sind beseitigt. Steinrampen und offenes Deckwerk bremsen die Wertach ab und verhindern, dass sie sich weiter canyonartig eingräbt. Durch das Abflachen des Ufers entstanden an der Wertach neue Wege, die Hauptwege verlaufen jetzt hinter dem Damm.
