The remainders of a wonder (für Eva L.)
Quelle: Wikipedia

➽ In the foreground the ruin site of the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus. It lies at the foot of the castle hill Ayasoluk below the Citadel and the Basilica of St. John (PiP) - for more information, see links in the notes.
The temple was dedicated to the goddess Artemis (goddess of hunting, forest and guardian of women and children). It was said to have been founded by the Amazon queen Otrere and belonged as the largest temple to the Seven Wonders of the World of antiquity. Source: Wikipedia
