Our garden blackbirds

A warm evening, as we sit in our opened door conservator and listen once again to the beautiful song and sounds of our blackbirds. This is siting on the highest conifer overlooking our garden . A moment to treasure and wonder at natures beauty.

Boarischa Krautmo, Keith Burton have particularly liked this audio file

Ah Daniela. I was surprised at seeing you here as I had not realised that this had been uploaded. It was meant to be joined by a possible photo of the bird and I still hope to upload one -after I have taken it!
Wonderful that you enjoyed it too.
Take care, Herbert

As time progresses, our friendly neighbours have now cut down many of the tall trees that our blackbirds so adored. Hopefully we will still hear their beautiful song as summer comes around again. We are still seeing them in the garden eating the fallen seeds that our finches throw to them from the feeders.

I once read in a book about birds, if Blackbirds wouldn't be that common, people would take on long journeys to hear them.
This book isn't soo old, 20 years maybe. Meanwhile blackbirds are very rare, at least in my region. :-(
Nice to hear how the thrush (Turdus philomelos) wants to be recorded as well and towards the end even a Robin joins in. :-)
Thanks for that.

Yes I can quite understand that. I now realise how many other birds were recorded here too and yes we have a couple of local Robins. Of course the Blackbird is part of the Thrush family too but we do have the occasional Thrush and also Starlings. - At the moment although we still see a pair of blackbirds in the garden gathering fallen seeds from our feeder, the garden is almost totally dominated by Gold-finches throwing down nearly as many sun-flower seeds from the feeder as they eat.
Many thanks for your visit and reaction here.

Best Wishes. Herbert
