Rebuilding the pole.

|
After the total rebuild of the pole top by cutting off the burnt out section its rebuilt.
One of the few downsides to WA is the lack of rain and excess of dust. when we get very light showers (scotch mist) this only causes more problems of the water drops shorting out cause of the dust on the insulators. You only have to look at the roof of my garaged car to see the problem.
the footnote to this story it took 6 months and we now have underground power no more over head lines.
Then work backwards to make it all safe

and the view of the Indian Ocean looking to Rottenest Island out to the west of the school. This is in the school I am working at But I have Removed the name so it is lost.

Kindy "Mud" Kitchen
| |
|
|
|
This is the outdoors kitchen the kids can play in sand, leaves, sticks. All the times I have even been in the kindy area this gets a hammering, boys and girls..
Last week I was asked could I please fix up the doors none closed properly all the old latches well rusted away. It was a case of remove the door that looks like an oven cut of a 5mm slice off one side as the door had very badly swollen in all the rain and water.
I had nightmares all week as I knew it was going to be very wet on the day I planned to fix this. This morning you would have fitted in well if you were a duck when we first got to school and I was doing inside jobs. Side note to this we are only 15 days into the month BUT so far well ahead on any months average on record.
The time I pick up leaves I could see it fine so I got everything I had got ready the previous day to do the job. I brought the bits I need down in our wheelbarrow plus a ground sheet as I had to lay on my back to remove the old rusted hardware. I had my head fully inside each of the three doors to first remove the old and put in the new.
I was only two doors down when all the kids where set out to play me head inside a door guess who was the center attraction. The boys even went to get there "tools" and brought them out in the red wheelbarrow. The boys(with tools in hand) told the Girls who wanted to "use" the kitchen, they said you cant "Steve is fixing it". 45 min later it was all back together even the other shelves that where left out the water has twisted lots but it still works and kids fully enjoy it.
So what is better than to be protected by those that where mimicking you. Then it was back to the real world leaves, dead birds, block drains............. small things that brighten your life.

No snow here, no hot Christmas meals so projected Christmas lunch in Australia will be a total of 22 tones of prawns Australia wide. On a Projected 36c day mostly Cold prawns.
This sprung up on the way to the school just begging for a Photo. On real close look they all look homemade and made very well.
From Down under All the Best for your Christmas hope you have a great time with your family . May you all enjoy a great Christmas and know we are one big family..
The Big Sundial

This is out on the coast and as you can see a nice fine very cold day. As a matter of interest my Watch said 10:50am so I went over to the right side to check the time on this very ancient idea of a clock 10:50 am so have we got better or are we still the same no matter what. I personally like the idea of a Sundial but its just a little hard to carry around with you.
Well worth a read below...

The freeway has the electric rail in the middle 13 station on the southern side. I was lucky that I went for the event 8-1-2006 when the foot bridge right side was being put on early in the morning. The shot was taken from the South lake bridge over the freeway The freeway closed to get this done then the same for other side on a different weekend. You will notice no train line no electrical wires at this stage. The Southern line opened 23-12-2007 and has run full "steam" since.
This train is on its way down the Line to Mandurah a train runs every 15min in the day time easy way to get to Perth.
peak hour either side can become a slow moving parking station, freeway is not wide enough not enough lanes. The photos came from the traffic bridge over the freeway, thankfully there is a pedestrian path so I could get the shot. Modern Rail way nothing old nothing really romantic as an old steam train that I was use to in NZ from our home, but it works.
