47Tucanae NGC104

47Tucanae NGC104
This is a true RGB colour photo using filters on the Mono sensor. You have seen this before from Coloured camera but this is from 100% B/W sensor. This is a Globular cluster and its yellowish stars . Contrast the shot below from the ED 80 and coloured camera.

47 Tucanae NGC104

47 Tucanae in in our galaxy but if you are not shooting it directly you always get The SMC which is way outside our Galaxy. I gave a Talk at our astro group on where we are in the milky way and what we take photos of and just where those targets are within the Milky way. Its not quit what you would think.

Small Magellanic Cloud & 47 Tucanae.

If you are still not sure you have ever seen it Left side the small white cloud at the top, you cant miss the Bight spot just above .

The Bow

So this was a one night only as its such a bright target I shot it 60 seconds each of the three filters. there are two Galaxies one bottom and one top on the diagonal they just show up. In hind sight may be been better to do it with QHY183m as it shows a closer view and more stars show of the cluster as you get a closer view

QHY268M 0c 1 night only 60sec 110 shots each Red Green Blue filter.

Thank you has been a long time coming getting into RGB on the mono while I understand some of it there is a lot to learn. Currently trying NGC 55 but very few nights between clouds and moon, this one will be the real trial.

Thank you its one of our wonders we have this side of the equator made all the more interesting once you know just where it sits in the milky way and the view you get if you take it wider. Both Magellanic clouds are not inside our milky way are well out side but always make the views I take . It was probably the best target to try out proper RGB as its so bright really one night of shots is well and truly enough. RGB is around new moon or moon free nights so it really is all about planning and luck with the weather also playing ball.
