Three shots stacked together that miss fired as I did not know I had moved the camera from Bulb to 30". The night did not go well could not line up the tracker nearly gave up and came home after 3/4 hour just trying to set on the Octans which I just could not see at all. I gave up in disgust but tried the unit out no matter what very happy the way the unit works. I can see this being much better tracked properly and stacking 30 shot First shots. Single shot 30 sec Iso 3200 @200MM. A shot Ko has been asking for ,next time I hope to do it correctly makes a stunning background on a 25" screen.

PIP is the white dot on the top.

If this is a bad one, I gasp at the next step up! Wonderful first go my friend. I look forward to seeing this on my big screen instead of here with my Ioad. Sorry it was a trial for you Steve. As you say, without Polaris a difficult task. You have gicen life to this clous. Very well done.

its way harder down south and it does no help the star are not very visible but I will slowly try and improve. there lots of colour up there and a few lens to try out to bring it to life. Clara also enjoyed the night as well but it was cold out in the bush. It a case of always improve step by step slowly.

Hi Steve,

Again I am very impressed!
I know that even on a couple of seconds exposure you can see the star trails, but not on these pictures. When I was young, I used to see pictures just like these in astronomy books, then read they were taken through a huge telescope!

Best wishes

Peter these I hope are just the start the learning this the first and the next start into this field has shown me such a lot. Still got a way to go. I think once I get it right you should see a much better photo when you can stack 30 shots together much better detail. you are 100% right I must have seen the very same books as a child part of why I though worth trying to learn. this is a simple 70-200mm lens.
