Stars In wonder - Do look on Black

Stars In wonder - Do look on Black
A shot I never did anything with from the Kondinin trip Stars Every where and Mud. Clear view of the Emu in the milky way. Enjoy a little reflection.
Top PIP Lake at the other end of this shot you will note its a bit later about 30 min from when we left here.
bottom PIP contrast the emu in the western bow rather than the eastern main photo.

Marie-claire Gallet, Fred Fouarge, franco benf, and 13 other people have particularly liked this photo

I did not do any thing with it it was forgotten and left behind i had a look back at the milky way season and saw this shot . we are so close to the lake i am standing in mud to get this by the time i got back to the car i had grown 2" from mud under my boots but it was worth it for this photo when i look back at the night. well worth getting out into the outbacks to get in the black. the milky way was as bright as you see it here reminded me of my childhood in the tropics . glad you like it certainly some thing i should not have forgotten.

It is enriching to have such memories... here in south Portugal when I was born 64 years ago it was real wild, no tourism yet... I was born in an island of the Ria Formosa and my first memories from starry nights and big moon rising are still vivid. We had no electricity to pollute the sky...

I truly look forward to coming over to Madeira and Portugal with my wife i have lived it through her family and her word . i have walked almost all of Madeira on GE, all i can say is turn me loose. we may just meet i will look up your island.

Compared to the two in set shots the water was much calmer - well worth getting muddy boots for this!

I am glad you agree but kind of ruined by the growth to the horizon. the true black sky the stars shine just like the photo you get more detail to the stars. once i got down to the other site i had to was tripod feet and scuff my boots on the sealed road to get the sticky mud off the boots. yes it was worth it but one i did not look at before worth bringing out.

Nick not since i was a child in the tropics on a coral atoll in the middle of the pacific with no lights. the milky way is so vivid and bright and you feel you can touch it its stands out so much. i look forward to next years milky way season this year is over i may be lucky to get a shot in NZ this month or next but that depends on clouds in a cloudy land. many thanks
