Two diving ducks: top - Buffleheads, bottom: Ringnecks
A rare sighting across from our home and today, two days after I took these photos, they are gone, continuing their migration to the far northern regions of the continent.

Danke, Reinhard.
Hab' leider vergessen, den Titel hinzuzufuegen. Diese beiden Entenarten brueten in unserer Gegend nicht, sondern haben sich hier nur ein paar Tage ausgeruht. Sie fliegen weiter in den hohen Norden des Kontinents und waren gestern schon wieder weg.

Beautiful photo and light. The buffleheads are common here in Mississippi in the winter, but I have never seen ring-necked ducks.

I had never seen any, either, and was surprised to see these in the little pond across the street where the new homes are being built. They are gone now, even more reason to treasure these rare shots.
