Lycoris radiata

Lycoris radiata
This plant sends up leaves in the spring which die down after a few months. In late summer the plant uses the stored energy to send up flowers. Sometimes, they are called "magic lilies" or "spider lilies". (Thanks to Keith for reminding me of this name.)
