Branco & I were heading out for a walk to the pond, when I saw this snake lying across our path. We went to the pond by another route.

The eastern copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix) also known as the copperhead is a species of venomous snake, a pit viper, endemic to Eastern North America.

I think I was pretty safe, since I was wearing heavy clothing. Mostly I was worried about Branco who was with me.
