Snake in a hole in a tree

Snake in a hole in a tree
When I walked past this hole in a tree, I saw someone stick out his tongue. When I came closer, the snake withdrew further into the hole. Judging from its cloudy eye, I suspect it is about to shed its skin.

I don't know if it dangerous, but I didn't stick my finger in its hole. Very few snakes here are dangerous. Thanks for your comment, Eva.

I checked on it today (21 July). It is still in the same hole, but a bit further back. I didn't stick my finger inside.
