all were warm and snug inside
sat around the fire from the cold they did hide
drinking hot chocolate with stories to tell
of winter nights, owls and fairy spells
the snow began to fall on the ground
so silently there was not a sound
soon they all would climb into bed
snug and warm to dream it is said
but outside they went with winter boots
woolly hats and mitts as the owl hoots
snowballs flying all around . . .
their laughter was then the only sound . . .
