Dear members and friends of ipernity!
1) To make it easier for you to see what's new in ipernity, there's now a message bar at the top of your main page. After reading you can simply click it away. To make viewing ipernity friendlier for the eyes, the left and right margins have been darkened. Club members with Standard or Plus subscriptions who wish to keep their page margins bright can do so individually via an advanced "Page Color" option menu. Moreover, the page color and the color of the comment fields can now be better fine tuned with this option menu.
2) As new members join us, former members also leave us. This is unfortunate, but a natural process that takes place in all communities. However, as long as joiners outweigh leavers, we do not have to worry:
3) The natural fluctuation (as well as the regular deletion of abandoned accounts) results in you receiving regular messages about changes in your groups. So they are nothing to worry about, but normal for a living community.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As I understand the Page Color Options are as follows
1 The Color settings are only set and viewed by the owner of the page.
2 Others may set the Page Options as they themselves wish to view your Page.
So if I understand the Page Color Options correctly Others cannot change your chosen options.
So Sami your suggestions that
2) Let even the visitors and guests tweak the client side page colors is not an option for them to change My settings.
Hopefully I am right because if Visitors could change my page options I like Jaap would find this fundemently and totally unacceptable.
nobody can change your contents and/or the layouts which you have predetermined. When someone from outside requests your content from the AWS servers, everything is sent to her/his browser exactly as you have specified. No other person can change this data package. Furthermore, no one can change your personal viewing mode in your private devices. This is your private untouchable territory, so to speak.
However, the color of the background, the fonts and comment fields, the buttons and icons and many other elements from which requesting browsers finally assemble the displayed web page, are not part of your individual data package. They are rather general components of ipernity, for which the program sends default values to the requesting browsers to promote a certain standardized appearance.
But users have always been able to influence these default values for viewing. The most simple was influencing the font size, more complex was changing the background color. For freaks, however, there have always been tools like Grease-Monkey, with which one could set the background color of an Internet offer in the way one wanted. Newly released recently are the night modes of WINDOWS and macOS. This means that all Internet users now have the opportunity to view content in the evening or in darker rooms without harming their eyes.
In the whole discussion, therefore, a clear distinction must be made between what is the territory of us as offerers - and what is the territory of the viewers. As mentioned above, only content is the offerers territory. But the way of viewing isn't. How users like to view your/our content is their territory. Even if one wanted to dictate to them, users could bypass such rules.
The whole issue of customizing page colors via the options menu, which has been available for half a year, is not at all about what is sent. Your content will be sent exactly as it was before. Nothing is added and nothing is cut off. Your territory will remain untouched.
This whole issue is simply a matter of offering ipernity club members who have booked higher-value club subscriptions (Standard or Plus) an additional added value: to customize their private viewing environment according to their personal preferences, without having to install complicated additional tools from the Internet, as Sami quoted above. It is a tool for viewing only, not for designing what you send. (What is sent is always the same: only what you provide for publication. Your personal preferred viewing mode will not be sent to anyone!)

By the way: Guests are welcome to try out these advanced viewing options and other additional features of the higher value subscription packages. A three-month free trial subscription is available for this purpose!
But how others - perhaps - like to view your content is beyond the control of all of us:
