This weekend had been a real mix of weather. Saturday morning was bright and sunny so I decided to walk to mother's and get a couple of photos of Black Combe wearing a nice white cap of snow and the fells which would have more snow on them. The weather was pleasant enough to shed gloves, scarf and hat so not quite the full winter rig out. When I reached the bridge the weather had changed and Black Combe and the fells were hidden from sight which was a bummer. I carried on walking but there was nothing of interest to snap. I found mother in good fettle and we spent a long time catching up on each others news before I left for home.
With today's trip to town in mind I decided to catch the two buses required to get some and had no re-action from the 3 mile walk to mothers.
This morning the weather closed in with thick fog sorronding us. I weighed it up and decided I would walk over and hopefully get some atmospheric photos of boats in the fog. I failed miserably in this as you can tell by the two snapshots. On the first the channel is only a few yards away behind the trees but not a sign was to be seen. The second shot is from the bridge and this one should show around 10 boats moored in that area. This is when it became clear that a stroll to town was not a good idea but I was at the point of no return being around half way to town so plodded on.
I returned on the 11:15 around £25 lighter but with plenty of food bargains.
The weather hasn't improved so I am snugly cabined up for the rest of the day.
Stay warm people.

I do remember many years ago in England fog was common, often very thick, so thick in fact that all public transport stopped. Wandering around in was sort of ghostly because there was no sound at all, this can be experienced in heavy snow falls too.
Glad your trip was a success regarding finding your Mother in good shape and that you made a few bargain purchases.
Stay safe.
It's not too cold here today but gray and raw. Expecting another mish mosh of weather tomorrow. So I have a pot of beef stew with veggies and potatoes simmering in the kitchen. Will make a batch of biscuits for a good comfort dinner..
