I have received an E Mail from BT my Internet provider. They are in the process of upgrading our local exchange which is good news. My Internet download speed has been 8 mps at best and normally 6mps now with the improvements I can expect up to 10 times that speed. At the moment it is up to 54mps a vast improvement.
However they may be technical glitches ahead. On Monday sometime before 6pm the Internet and phones will be all turned off for a short time.

Possible hitch numbers 1 and 2, BT are noted for working in their own time zone so I don't know what their short time means in real life or what time before 6pm this will happen.

Hitch number3 they tell me power will be restored and the phone and Internet should come on automatically. If not I should unplug the server and start again. As I don't know what time completion is this will be difficult.
Hitch number 4 the Internet may slow down or stop all together for periods in the 10 days or so to follow but I am not to worry this is normal.

Hitch number 5 my Bt vision box which records, downloads and stores programmes will also be off of course. They tell me this also will start up automatically but if it doesn't,Well you get the picture.

With BTs track record there are too many shoulds and a vague timetable to instill confidence. So Monday will be an adventurous day cyber wise.

On a totally different subject a pretty young lady with a big smile informed me via the goggle box this morning that the rain falling now will get heavier as the day goes on and the winds will pick up as well. She said all this without the smile leaving her face,I think she enjoyed it,maybe she has a trip to sunnier climes in the offing.
